• Tom Mosser is a Pittsburgh-based artist known for blending fine art, sports culture, humor, and storytelling into highly recognizable visual work. His viral “Museum Series” paintings — featuring dogs gazing at giant floating tennis balls in museum settings — have become beloved by collectors and dog lovers around the world.

Tom is also the creator of “Sports Ball Impressionism,” an original painting style that uses actual sports balls to create logos and imagery. His work has appeared in homes, galleries, and major sports venues nationwide, including U.S. Bank Stadium, Lambeau Field, Fiserv Forum, and Prudential Center Arena.

A Penn State graduate with a BFA in Drawing, Tom began his professional art career as a freshman creating artwork for the university’s Sports Information Office while also serving as an illustrator and award-winning editorial cartoonist for The Daily Collegian. In Fall 2026, Tom will join the Penn State College of Arts & Architecture Alumni Society Board, continuing his long connection to the university and its creative community.

Beyond the studio, Tom spent eight years performing as the Pittsburgh Pirates’ mascot, the Pirate Parrot, entertaining crowds at more than 700 Major League Baseball games — including appearances in London and Rotterdam.

MosserWorks Collective is very much a family operation. Tom’s wife, artist and community advocate Mara Lorusso Mosser, serves as the company’s CFO, operational mastermind, occasional voice of reason, and undisputed Head Honcho. Mara has collaborated on major community-driven art initiatives throughout Pittsburgh, including the “Make A Marc” campaign supporting the release of Pittsburgh teacher Marc Fogel.

And then there’s Franco — the company’s official Chief Canine Advisor, tennis ball quality-control specialist, and full-time morale department.

Together, the Mossers continue building artwork, exhibitions, collaborations, and projects centered around connection, creativity, humor, and community.
